Douwyn Library
Digital asset library
Manage images, documents and files in Douwyn Starter Kit with folders, tags, access controls and local or S3 storage.
Module capabilities
- Organize assets with folders and tags; preview images.
- Private storage by default with separate read and upload permissions.
- Manage metadata, track usage and restore files from trash.
Who is it for?
For teams that need a shared asset library with controlled access and recoverable files.
How the module works
A shared asset library for your team
Douwyn Library brings images, documents and files into one administration interface. Content teams organize assets with folders and tags, preview images and edit localized alternative text and captions. Authorized users work from a shared catalog rather than searching across conversations, and can see the registered places where an asset is used.
Storage and access under your control
Files are private by default. Viewing, downloading, uploading and publishing have separate permission checks; public uploads require publishing permission. Use local or S3-compatible storage with file-type and size limits. S3 connection credentials are encrypted. An authenticated API lets other applications access assets within the user’s permissions.
Usage tracking and file recovery
Registered integrations record asset references. Library blocks trashing or permanent deletion while references remain. Unused assets can be moved to trash and restored through the library lifecycle. Audit logs, statistics and usage filters help administrators review storage. URLs copied outside the system are not automatically tracked as references.
Usage workflow
- 1.
Configure storage, file limits and role permissions.
- 2.
Upload assets, organize folders/tags and complete localized metadata.
- 3.
Select assets in connected modules and review usage before cleaning up storage.
Implementation requirements
Library requires a compatible Douwyn Starter Kit, durable file storage and a worker for thumbnails. Blog, Telegram and AI are optional. Connecting those modules requires separately quoted integration packages; migration of existing files is assessed before work starts.
Frequently asked questions
Are Blog and Telegram integrations included?
No. Library works as its own asset manager. Blog Library and Telegram Library are separate packages requiring compatible source modules. Removing media from a source module removes its reference without automatically deleting the original Library file.
Does Library generate image descriptions with AI?
AI assistance requires the AI module and the separate Library AI package. Standard Library supports manual metadata editing. An authorized user reviews AI suggestions before applying them.
Does the module price include storage capacity?
The indicative price covers use of the module for one project. Hosting, S3 capacity, transfer, implementation and data migration are quoted separately.
Scope and costs
Existing features are included in the package. Additional development is quoted before work starts.
Included in the standard scope
Use of the module in one project with the capabilities listed on this page, subject to the version and scope confirmed in the quotation. The module price is not the cost of building a complete system.
Entering and editing your data
You can add or edit information using existing fields and functions within the module’s permissions and configuration without a software customization fee. Data entry, cleanup or migration performed by Douwyn is quoted separately.
Separately priced customization
New fields or features, interface changes, business workflows, reports, specialized permissions and external integrations fall outside the standard scope.
Examples requiring a separate quote: Custom metadata, asset approval workflows or another file storage integration.
Costs not included
Installation and deployment; data entry or migration; a custom website or application; hosting, domains and storage; third-party services and AI API usage. Required modules and integration packages are priced separately unless included in the quotation.
Agreement before additional work
Douwyn confirms requirements, scope, cost and timing before starting additional work with the customer’s agreement. Defects that prevent delivered features from meeting the agreed scope are distinguished from new requests and handled under the agreed warranty and support terms. Module pricing does not automatically include lifetime maintenance or upgrades.
Platform and integrations
These modules run on Douwyn Starter Kit with Laravel and Filament; they are not standalone applications. During the demo, Douwyn will check platform compatibility and your integration needs.
